Why the Escort Redline 360C Falls Behind
A few years ago when the Escort Redline 360C was competing with the Uniden R7, it was a great option, but the Uniden R8 simply destroyed the competition. In response, Escort released the MAX line of radar detectors that can compete with the superior Uniden R8. Even then, the Uniden R8 is a better radar detector than the most current Escort MAX 360C and MAXCam models.

Uniden R8 Features and Functions

Design Features
The Uniden R8 has a sharp, geometric design that places the most important buttons right at your finger tips. It has a stunning OLED display that shows the radar band, strength, and direction. The device also gives you GPS data to show you what direction you are driving.
On the face of the detector, Uniden placed a mute button and a mark button that make it simple to quickly hit the most useful features. Power, menu, and volume buttons are located on the top.
Uniden R8 Functions
The most important thing about any radar detector is the ability to detect radar signals, and that is where the R8 simply beats everything else on the market. It utilizes a dual antenna design that allows the R8 to accurately pinpoint radar signals from any direction. They made a great decision and incorporated the DSP from the R4 into the new R8 design. This lets the detector tell you about threats significantly faster than anything else on the market.
The Uniden R8 features QuietRide technology that is designed to eliminate false alerts. During third-party testing, the R8 has proven itself to be superior at eliminating false alerts over every other design out there. The R8 has settings that allow you to silence it automatically when you aren’t speeding, a handy feature that prevents the detector from being distracting when you don’t need it to be noisy.
Voice alerts can also be selected that will accurately let you know about radar threats with spoken words instead of beeps. The built-in GPS allows the Uniden R8 to automatically lock out false alerts from stationary sources after you pass by several times. Users can also manually lock out sources.

Escort Redline 360C Features and Functions
The Escort Redline 360C has a sleek appearance with an excellent, bright display. It was once the premier flagship design from Escort, but has been surpassed by the Escort MAX 360C Mk.II and the Escort MAXCam 360C. While the Redline 360C carries a higher price tag than the Mk.II, it is not as good of a detector.
Escort will be discontinuing this model in the immediate future and is informing buyers that the remaining stock on hand will be the last of the Redline models sold.
Escort Redline 360C Design Features
The OLED display provides the detected radar band, the direction of the source, and the signal strength so you can quickly determine whether the threat is real.
All of the function buttons are located on the top of the unit. We found that the buttons tke a little while to get used to using since you can’t see the labels when the device is mounted to the windshield. Mute, power, volume, and menu buttons are clustered together. The volume buttons have raised bumps to help you find them easily.
Escort Redline 360C Functions
A dual direction antenna provides 360-degree detection and the arrows on the face of the detector indicate the direction of the source. This is ideal tech to help you rapidly determine whether you need to slow down or whether the threat is not important.
Range is good from this detector, but pales in comparison to the Uniden R4, R8, and the Escort MAX 360C Mk.II which shows a 50 percent increase in range over the Redline 360C. Range is about half of the Uniden R8.
False alert filtering uses built-in AI technology to virtually eliminate all false signals. There are also manual and automatic lock out features to help reduce unwanted alerts.

Conclusion
