Cameras and Quality
It goes without saying that a dash cam is only as good as its camera quality. Poor video defeats the purpose of having a dash cam.
Both the N4 and N2 Pro are capable of recording at 1440p at 30 frames per second from their front facing cameras. Alternatively, you can record at a lower 1080p for 60 frames per second. Additionally, the N4 is able to record in 4K if the dash cam is only recording from the front-facing camera.
Both models have decent night vision as well, using a Sony system with multiple IR LEDs. The LEDs illuminate the interior of the vehicle to capture the details of the driver and passenger(s). This might not matter so much to the casual user, but will be very valuable for taxi drivers or other rideshare workers.
Where the two models diverge is the number of cameras and their viewing angles. The N2 Pro has a front-facing and interior-facing camera, while the N4 has the former along with an additional rear-facing camera. The N4 provides a 155-degree view from the front and a cabin view of 165 degrees, while the N2 Pro’s front camera has a 170-degree view and its cabin camera has a 140-degree view.
While both products have high-quality cameras, we give the edge to the N4 with its ability to record in 4K and having a rear-facing camera.

Storage Capacity
Both dash cams offer the same max storage at 256GB. However, it is important to note that if the 4K mode is enabled on the N4, that 256GB will fill up more quickly than if it were running at 1440 or 1080p. For those who do not plan to use the highest resolution, this is a non-issue.
If you want to use the highest possible recording quality, the footage will be overwritten sooner, meaning you will have less saved per “loop”. Both models feature a collision detector though, so it will capture and save footage related to a possible accident regardless of the quality being used.
Each model offers identical storage, but it would be nice if the N4 had a higher maximum capacity given it can record storage-intensive 4K video. With that being said, the N2 Pro wins here simply because its storage limits are more suited to its capabilities.

Battery Life
Each dash cam comes with its own onboard battery. The N4 has a supercapacitor while the N2 Pro uses a lithium-ion battery. The N4’s supercapacitor gives it longer battery life, which makes it objectively the better option.
Furthermore, supercapacitor batteries are smaller, so their housings can be more compact. They are also more resistant to extremely hot or cold temperatures. If you happen to live in an environment where the weather is particularly harsh, the N4 might be the better option for long term reliability.

The Vantrue N4 is a high-quality dash cam with 3 cameras to capture wide views of the front and rear of the vehicle, as well as the interior. It has night vision for capturing good footage even when lighting is dim, loop recording, and a G-sensor to detect collisions so video related to said collision can be saved.

Vantrue N2 Pro
The N2 Pro from Vantrue features a front and rear-facing camera with wide viewing angles, along with Sony-powered night vision so your footage is usable even in the dark. Like the N4, it has an onboard G-sensor to detect collisions and save related footage, a maximum storage capacity of 256GB, and loop recording.
The N2 Pro has a smaller 1.5-inch display, but this is still a good size for ease of use and sometimes even preferred by those who want a minimalist setup. Like the N4, no GPS comes with the dash cam but can be purchased separately.
