Display
This detector has the standard Escort OLED display with four different color setting: Blue, Red, Green, and Amber. There are five levels of brightness to choose from including a full dark mode. It has a Cruise Alert function that warns you when you are exceeding a driver set speed (a voice alert shouts OverSpeed) and a bar graph that indicates the detected radar’s signal strength. One feature that is missing is directional arrows to indicate where the threat is coming from.
GPS Capability
The IXc has improved accuracy in geo-positioning. It comes with Escort’s Defender Database of known photo and red light camera locations, including MultaRadar, and it also has AutoLearn technology. It will automatically block out false alert locations that are found along your normal driving routes. Data updates can be accomplished through a Escort Tools program on both PCs and Apple computers.
False Alert Filtering
The IXc has improved false alert filtering (IVT filtering ) that works in conjunction with the AutoLearn technology. It won’t alert to blind spot monitoring systems (BSM) and collision avoidance systems (CAS) found on newer vehicles.
Wi-Fi Connectivity
The Escort IXc does not need to be plugged into a computer to receive updates because of its Wi-Fi connectivity. It has a Bluetooth function and it still has a USB port if you want to use it. This allows you to receive up-to-date information about radar and laser speed traps near your location.

Sensitivity Settings
Besides the OverSpeed Alert function, the IXc’s sensitivity can be adjusted by the driver. The detector’s sensitivity can be dialed down for lower speeds to help limit false alerts. There are Auto LoK and Auto NoX settings, the first cuts K-band sensitivity by 65% and the second shuts off X-band Alerts completely. Additionally there are City, Highway, and Auto sensitivity settings for drivers to choose from. The IXc’s detection range has been increased by about 70%, but it is still not as good as Escort’s Redline and Max series models.
Voice Alerting
The voice alerts are easy to understand and can be heard in either English or Spanish. This is useful because you don’t have to take your eyes off the road to check out the current alert.
Magnetic Windshield Mount
Escort’s quick-release magnetic mount, first introduced on their Redline series of radar detectors, is now included with the IXc.
